Auction Description

This factory Nickel plated .32 caliber spur trigger antique revolver was made by Hood

This is a spur trigger five shot .32 rimfire caliber revolver marked ROBIN HOOD on top of the barrel. On the side of the barrel is the patent notice of “PAT. April 6, 1875.” This is an antique and can be shipped freely, so long as not a violation of your local law.

This has most of the nickel left, and shows little wear. The hammer still has it’s original blue. The hard rubber grips have a chip out of the right side at the pin.

When you pull back on the hammer, it moves crisply into half cock and locks tightly at full cock, and at full cock, the cylinder stop locks the cylinder into place. When you pull the spur trigger, it drops the hammer as it should. But the cylinder does not rotate as you cock the hammer, although it can be turned into position by hand.

These small rim-fire spur trigger revolvers were made in great numbers between 1870 and 1890, sometimes called suicide specials, are collected more for their colorful names and looks than as working firearms.

This particular model was made by Hood Firearms Company, located in New York, a company which produced a variety of very good quality pocket pistols, with a variety of interesting and colorful trade names, including Brutus, Czar, Hard Pan, Little John, Marquis of Lorne, Tramps Terror, and Wide Awake.

I am offering this locally and elsewhere, so consider using the Buy it Now feature.

ALL items are sold in USED AS-IS condition and as "Collector Curios and Antiques" with NO guarantees, warranties, or liabilities implied or given for shooting or any other use. ANY inferences or comments made by me as to shooting condition is for informational description purposes ONLY and is NOT meant or intended to be a guarantee or inference of the item's safety for firing!!

I will ship outside of the US, but it is not possible to fully insure items once they are outside of the U.S. postal system...but if the buyer accepts this responsibility of possible damage or loss, and if he checks his Customs laws and is legal to import this particular antique weapon, then I MAY ship outside the USA, depending on the country involved. I know the federal laws about shipping antiques, and will follow them always...but you must make sure that it is legal for you where you live to receive and possess the item you want to buy. Please e-mail for any unclear terms.
