Auction Description

Colt Single Action Army Revolver. Retains its original blue. Bore is shiny with strong rifling. Mechanically excellent, with tight lockup on cylinder. Grips are period ivory. Grips have a very pleasing look and feel. Includes factory letter stating that this gun was shipped to J.C. Petmecky April 1, 1891. A superb Colt SAA in rare condition.

J.C. Petmecky - Ran a gumsmith's shop in the 1800's. Close friend with Colonel William F. Cody, AKA Buffalo Bill. He made and sold guns to the army as well as Texas Rangers including Captain Sullivan Ross.
